One of the largest and most popular Pub style establishments in Los Angeles, The Cat & Fiddle combines a storied history with a top notch present day atmosphere, which adds up to one of the premiere nightlife spots for miles around.
Some people come to C&F for the food, which mimics Pub food, and admirably, but doesn't quite live up to offerings from across the pond. You'll find familiar favs like Bangers & Mash, Shepherd's Pie (Veggie if you prefer) and Steak & Kidney pie. They even have Scotch Eggs! :0!
Most people though, come for the large quantities of attractive single Angelenos and the beer on tap. Bartenders are excellent here and really know their stuff, but they do not suffer fools gladly. Just be nice, tip them well and don't try to take up too much of their time. You'll be rewarded with great service and a quality pull from the tap. Last time I ventured out they had Harp, Bass, Guinness Stout, Newcastle (My personal favorite!), Stella, Strongbow, Boddingtons and Erdinger Hefe-Weizen on tap. Many, many more bottled brands to be had.
In the back you'll find the requisite dart board set-up. Outside there is a very large patio with tables, and sometimes there's live music outside in the evenings as well.
Parking can be a challenge at times, but that's just part of going out in L.A. Look for pay lots in the general area or valet. Your choice.
