I am not a regular customer by any means, I bought one item there with a friend about a year ago and the shop assistant was very friendly and helpful.
However I went in today with a couple of friends from out of town, because they had stressed they wanted to go and also just to show them one of the places not many people go to in York.

I cannot even begin to explain how rude the shop assistant was. He accused us of being there "just for giggles" and after just a few minutes of being there we were asked to leave because he was bored and wanted to get on with his Book-keeping...I wish I was kidding.
I even over-heard him call us "chinks" as we left because some of the people in the group were Japanese.

As a very infrequent Adult shop-goer I know I shouldn't judge the place based on this one appauling visit. However I believe that the service we recieved was beyond dreadful and by all means if it was any mainstream shop it would deserve to be shut down or at least have the one shop assistant fired. ( middle-aged and balding I might add)

Bad moods, other business, boredom and especially racism should never affect customer service.
The only reason I would ever recommend anyone to visit will be for the sheer irony factor of this self-proclaimed "friendliest adult shop around".
To sum up the whole experience and an appropriate closing word:
Terrible.

Great selection of stock, not pushy and friendly staff.
Opens everyday (mon-sat 10-8 and sundays 12-5)
Them evenings hours are a bonus for those who work out of the town centre.
