The Rose and Crown in Sutton on the Forest is the perfect blend of excellent restaurant standard food in a beautiful English village pub location.
My other half and I have been here so many times and never once been disappointed. It's great for sunday lunch, seems to cater well for big families/groups, but also is a lovely place to come for a romantic dinner. The food is excellent - great choice and they use local producers. The wine list is fantastic too. It is slightly pricier than some pubs, but well worth it.
Would recommend booking and would also recommend a walk around the lovely village to work off your meal!

On a recent visit to the ever popular Rose and Crown we were once again wowed by the food. Flavours and presentation were faultless! If your looking for the best food in York, this is it. Our Top Recommendation.
