Pick of the bunch
Sha-hi is a very small Indian takeout, not far from the main train staion in York, is it defiantly my favorite of the crop in that area. It doesn't have a restaurant attached, but will deliver if you like. The menu is not vast, but everything I've had form there has been excellent.
My favorites include the Chicken Dansak which is nicely hot and sour, the Mutton Korai (and honest name - it's not lamb, and its better off for it) and their chicken tikka (in various guises, my favorite being the chicken tikka madras) is wonderfully juicy and tasty.
The lads on the front desk are normally chatty without being too in your face, and its always gratifying to read the certificates on the wall. My favorites are those from York Firefighters Green Watch, voting it their favorite takeaway.
All in all, it's an excellent affair, and I go there rather than any other.
