Reviews for Zizzi

Much like its sister restaurant, Ask, Zizzi offers pizza, pasta and salad dishes.

The difference is that Zizzi seems a more modern kind of place. The decor is more modern, and the feel of the place is slightly different.

As with some Ask restaurants, Zizzi features an open plan kitchen, the focal point of which is a large wood burning oven, so you can watch the chefs at work on the front line.

We visited on a Friday evening. It was steadily busy, but we were never rushed and were allowed to take our time. the food itself, while unspectacular, was very nice - the pizzas were crisp and the salads were fresh. The prices were reasonable aside from the desserts -£5 for a small slice of cheesecake seemed a bit much.

Service was very competent and polite and the atmosphere was very relaxed. An enjoyable visit to a very good restaurant.

Went to Zizzi on a Sunday afternoon, by recommendation of a friend. Wasn't disappointed: the waitress was friendly and quick to find us a place to sit. It wasn't full, but there was a considerable amount of people for a Sunday. The atmosphere is good, decoration is modern and it feels very spacious, with the huge wood oven dominating the kitchen.
We had a garlic pizza/bread as starter, it came quickly and tasted good. My portion of rigatoni with chicken and mushrooms was generous, and the chilli olive oil offered to us added an extra tingle to the food, that tasted fresh and delicious, like something that could have been cooked by my Italian grandma. The price was reasonable, and i'll definitely go back to try other options of the varied and tempting menu.
