This was our 2nd time to Rustique. Last time we visited was about 3 months ago during a shopping day to York. Today we went for the sole purpose of eating at Rustique as we enjoyed it so much the first time. Again the food was excellent, well presented, perfectly cooked and all in a nice relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff. True as the earlier reviewer has stated the service is slow but as all is cooked to order what do you expect, for us the wait was certainly worth it

We go to Rustique fairly regularly and have always enjoyed our visits. We usually have the set menu which is £11.95 for 3 courses which we feel is amazing value. The food is freshly prepared and good quality. The portions are not huge but certainly adequate and I much prefer quality over quantity. I am not sure why the first review was so poor, however looking at the other places they have reviewed and rated at 4 stars such as Pizza Hut and Frankie and Benny's would indicate what type of food they prefer. Don't let that review deter you from trying Rustique though if you do prefer mass produced restaurant chain food don't expect this from Rustique. The Restaurant has its own individual style with a more intimate and personal feel with a French cafe/bistro atmosphere.

We did not like this place at all. We went there for our anniversary hoping for a lovely romantic meal and we were bitterly disappointed. We almost got divorced because of it. only kidding. Seriously though, we did not like the service in this place. They were pretty quiet, but we had to wait so long for our food to come, and when it did, it was quiet disappointing. It tasted a little bland, and there was definitely not enough of it! We actually got a take away later in the night from a chip shop! that should tell you everything. I would not recommend this place and would encourage people to avoid it.
