The 3 Legged Mare - or "wonky donkey" to regulars was the first York Brewery pub to open and has remained a faithfully good refuge for those who want well served Real Ale and decent surroundings. It benefits from being 100m from York Minster and having 3 ropey pubs not far from it that don't exactly cause it to worry about the competition.

It's recently taken the step of opening until Midnight 7 days a week which is good if you want a little more time to "relax"!

My only gripe that takes this down a star is that the internal layout was designed by a lobotomised gibbon. When the place if full there is bottleneck, where they have put a protruding seated area just as you approach the bar.

A safe pair of hands as a hostelry all told though...
