BRILLIANT PUB GOOD NIGHT OUT! 4th September 2008

We often meet our friends in this riverside pub near the City of York centre of entertainment. The landlord is good fun and the beer and food are first rate.

Our friends work nearby and they prefer to have a drink in this pub first of all, before moving off into the city. The beer is first rate and we love the atmosphere of this olde world type public house. The pub offer sports and quizzes and time to enjoy a bite to eat.

We would all recommend a vist, my wife loves the atmosphere, its a mixture of friendly, socialable locals and visiting nationalities from all over the world. I have never seen roudy behaviour, or severe drunkeneness, but we do not visit often on Saturdays.

Overall, a good pub with a friendly, socialable atmosphere very near the City of York enetertainment area and in a quiet, riverside street on the banks pof the famous Rivewr Ouse. Take some time and see it for yourself.

this pub is good for sports. the beer is good too, not exceptional but ok. we go in for the big sports tv's and so it can get a bit loud in there if it isn't your sort of thing so mainly for the young crowd, or avoid if a match is on!

aside from that there is basic pub food, nothing special. the atmosphere is good in there though as its mainly locals so there is always someone you know. there is a good carvery though on a sunday which is worth going in for. its a basic kinda pub but its great!

If you want to watch or mix with Chelsea Supporters in the York area then this is the pub. With Chelsea matches on Sky wether Liverpool or Man Utd Arsenal are on.
