Reviews for Jorvik
Half term trip and lots of Vikings for the kids. But and it is a big but the centre is too successful - so crowded and long wait. The actual 'event' is a disappointment - like a poor imitation of Disney. The staff are well meaning but over stretched and can't manage the number of visitors. Trouble is we have all been spoilt by the new entertainments on offer at places like the Science Museum. Whole place feels like it need a makeover. Perhaps it is better outside half term when the pressure to get people through is off.
ok so i probably shouldn't slate the local tourist attractions, but being local i eventually found myself in the Jorvik centre. this is supposed to be a trip back in time on a ride through a viking village! however all the dummies looked like they were straight out of BHS's window and the sets could have been made to look more realistic by my 3 year old neice! you go on a suspended ride through the 'village' which in all honestly is more histerical than anything and the smell down there is bizzare. i honestly left there feeling robbed, but also laughing so not all was lost. but i wouldn't want other people to waste money too. if you go in as a family it works out expensive, save your money, its not worth it!
