Reviews for Cafe Rouge
I absolutely love cafe rouge, but for many many different reasons! Firstly, the location of this one is amazing set in the station. The decor, although adorned with the usual chain decorations, is still gorgeous. The staff here are also excellent and so is the service they deliver. They are very welcoming, polite and friendly and you never have to wait very long before being served. There is also no issue whatever you order, whether it be just a drink, just a coffee or one of every cake they sell! The food here is delicious and they do an amazing breakfast. The coffee is also mellow and smooth and tastes great!
Set as it is within one of the red brick arches of the beautifully renovated Royal Station Parade, this is by far the most attractive Café Rouge I've seen over the years. With it's high vaulted ceiling, wooden split-level floors, potted plants and bright airy feel, it almost feels like a genteel Victorian conservatory. There's outside seating, too, which benefits from being just inside the huge glass arch that covers this popular shopping and café area. Sheltered from the elements, one can sit and watch the world go by, or gaze at the massive walls of the nearby castle.
Of course the food is the same old Café Rouge menu that one gets anywhere, but if you like Café Rouge then you'll like the menu. The last time I was there, my friend and I just ordered a couple of glasses of wine... made peckish by the wine, we then ordered just one Croque Monsieur with fries to share. The waitress was fine with this rather conservative order, and even made us feel comfortable by bringing extra plates so we could divvy up the food. All in all an enjoyable, relaxing experience... I should go more often.
