My friends and I were really looking forward to a lunch in Windor's famous Crooked House. However I must say that we were all extremely disappointed and we will not be returning. We were welcomed by an unprofessional waitress that didn't seem to know what was going on. This was reflected by her poor service as she did not understand what we ordered and forgot to bring us scones, and in additon put mushrooms in my meal after I had clearly stated that I was allergic to them.
The room was a fridge and all of our food was decorated with butter in foil wrappers that looked like garbage. The toast that comes with the English Breakfast is like eating a news paper.
The scones that costed us around £4 per piece where cold and the served with processed jam and tesco clotted cream.
The venue does not have a toilet so you have to go to the public one across the road if you require to use one.
In addition one of our friend's salad had tomatoes that tasted off, and I suffered from a mild case of gastro interitis a few hours after eating there.
Overall, having eaten in many restaurants around London, I think that this place is a disgrace and a complete waste of money. I do not advise anyone to go to this overpriced scam of a tea room, if you want to experience a more authentic British cuisine go to Fortnum and Masons in London as it does quite a better job for a similar price.
