Couldn't agree more with the other reviews for this lovely shop - I go there because their selection of herbal infusions is really unusual and of very high quality

I agree with the others above. Knowledgeable and yet super-approachable staff with genuine enthusiasm. A fascinating range of teas including real rarities (Georgian - Caucasus - tea anyone?). I am currently sipping their Yunnan which still has a characterful liquor on the fourth brewing and a beautiful liquid gold typical of the style. Wonderful large leaves. On the basis of their input and their products, these are people whose advice I would trust and I don't know either of them!

This place is such a brilliant little find. Although it isn't in the best spot on the highstreet - being right down at the bottom of town near the bus station, it is well worth seeking out. The staff and particularly the owner are super friendly and knowledgable. The range of teas in particular are quite astonishing and they are the most delicious I have come across with all sorts including lychee infused green tea which is called 'white tea dan lei' and is amongst our favourites along with the trusty jasmine pearls. We stock up whenever we come back to Winchester and can't wait for the day when they finally start trading online!

This is a small shop but it contains a huge number of different types of tea (something like 150 flavours) and coffee (pre-gound and beans). The staff are friendly and very knowledgable about the teas and coffees. I go through about four bags of coffee a month and drive the 20 miles from home to buy from Char. The quality is superior to that of the coffee in Whitards and the supermarkets. I've been recommending it to all of my friends and they've all started going there. I'm even sending out a regular supply to friends living in the south of France!
