Reviews for Prezzo
Harsh I know, but I cannot really add anything the previous review has already stated. I really wanted to like it, but go to ZiZi's instead.
Prezzo is Italian for price.
That should have been a warning, eh?
A restaurant that calls itself Price is surely concentrating on the wrong thing - especially when attempting to recreate an Italian menu!
Prezzo in Whitstable looks the part - like all their other branches it is clean, bright and inviting. However, appearances can be deceptive, because Prezzo, at least the Whitstable outlet, provides mediocre food, mediocre service and a totally unforgettable experience (for the wrong reasons, naturally).
Whitstable itself has many lovely restuarants, which all appear to be closed on Mondays which is why I ventured into Prezzo.
The waitress who served us was clearly having a bad day, and she has single handedly made me vow never to enter a Prezzo again. Plates and glasses slammed on tables does not make a good impression!
My companion had to use a steak knife to cut his pizza - and this item was removed from the bill by the manager who had just received the same complaint from a couple at another table.
My food (Pollo Siciliana, basically chicken with tomatoes, bacon and cheese with gratinated potatoes was nice in itself, but not memorable in any way. In fact I had to visit the website to see the menu to try to remember what I had ordered.).
In summary then - when in Whitstable on a Monday, be prepared for only a handful of local restaurants being open, and even then, most from about 5.30onwards. If you are really hungry, then try pub grub, but avoid Prezzo.
