  this is the greatest Indian restaurant to which I have ever beeeen in my entire life. The food is delicious and the waiters are simply wonderful and unbelievably friendly. dice

  I've eaten in the restaurant a few times and it's ok really. The food is very good but the room does have a 'goldfish bowl' feel about it. The room is quite brightly lit which feels 'odd' for an Indian restaurant and the glass windows at the front of the restaurant are rather big and let in lots of light. It's certainly not your stereotypical dark and dingy Indian restaurant. Strangely though, on the whole I think I prefer dark and dingy, seems 'proper' somehow.
  
  The staff are very friendly and helpful and always make you feel welcome
  
  These days we tend to use Cafe India for it's takeaway service. The staff are happy for to you to order a takeaway and then stand at the bar and have a drink while you wait. If your take away order is over a certain value fifteen pounds, I think, it will attract free delivery within a certain radius of the restaurant.

  This restaurant serves the most delicious Indian food in Totnes. It is all freshly cooked and the pilau rice tastes different to anywhere else I have ever eaten and it is fabulous. They say you eat with your eyes, so in this case you would be half full before you started to eat in here because the presentation, as the other reviewer said, is really good. I have only eaten at one other Indian restaurant in Totnes but this was by far the nicest food, even if it did cost a little more. It is worth every penny and the service is really good, they really take care of you. The naan bread was so delicious, and all the portions were generous.

  I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. I go there by choice for every birthday, anniversary and special occasion that I persuade my OH that we need to celebrate, including his own. Well, when one person gets so much pleasure from a visit, it seems churlish for the other to try to dictate their own choice!
  
  The food, firstly, tastes exquisite. This is not the kind of Indian Restaurant which serves pilau rice all the shades of the rainbow due to the toxic colours it has used. This is not the kind of place which serves up its tikka Masala in a nuclear reactor red greasy sauce. No - this is Indian cuisine of the highest calibre and not only is the food gorgeous to the tastebuds, it is gorgeous to the eyes, with a great deal of care taken over presentation. The service is also exceptionally attentive. Yes, there are other, cheaper Indian restaurants in town, which have their own merits, but this is simply streets ahead of the competition. I won't go anywhere else (even on hubby's birthday.) But I said that already, didn't I?

  I have only visited here once, but my friend & I both had different dishes & both were delicious with mine being vegetarian. The prices were very reasonable & the staff friendly. I would definately return here again. The only reason I am not giving this place top marks is because they had rebooked our table only an hour & a half after our booking so we had to leave before we were ready to do so.
