Reviews for Restaurant Noel

This is a real favourite local for a special occasion or a treat - though the prices are very reasonable (around £20 for three courses, with special happy hour offers early evening during the week). The site used to house a very old-fashioned seafood restaurant and the slightly dodgy floor tiles are the only remainder from that place. Now it's a fresh, airy and large restaurant with a truly mouth-watering menu - the food is French/Italian influenced, with a good wine list. For starters, there might be Smoked duck, mange tout, pickled walnut salad, or Chargrilled asparagus, pancetta wrapped mozzarella, balsamic beurre noisette; mains like Seabream, potato gnocchi, asparagus, fèves & girolles, shellfish velouté or Roasted globe artichoke & goatcheese mousse, mixed leaves & pesto (I've had this, it's blissful). Desserts are terrific, too, the chocolate and ginger tart is lipsmacking. The staff are friendly, the menu is seasonal and I can't recommend it highly enough. Book Fridays/weekends and for Sunday lunch.
