Stylish local Italian
Scarpetta is always packed, which has to be a good sign. It's probably the most reliable of the restaurants at the 'Lock End' of Teddington, with a great menu of Italian classics with a twist, plus pizzas baked in a huge oven at the far end of the restaurant. The design is stylish, with exposed walls and Tuscan colours, and the service is almost always friendly and efficient. The starters are innovative - I love the arancini (risotto balls with melting cheese inside), pizzas are good, and
desserts are a particular highlight if you've still got room! The portions used to be a bit small but they've recently increased them...the veggie choice is usually a risotto, a couple of pasta dishes, and lots of pizza. Book on busy nights.
