Reviews for Peter Tavy Inn

The Peter Tavy Inn is just north of Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor. Follow the signs from the A386 to Peter Tavy and then follow your nose to the pub (it’s the only pub in the village). The pub is well worth the effort in seeking it out, as it serves truly excellent food way above most gastro-pub fare. Being a pie-man myself, I was particularly bowled over by the steak and stilton pie. The menu changes regularly and is complimented by a selection of 4-5 real ales, as well as wines by the glass. Inside, the pub reflects the history of this 15th century building, with bare stone walls and exposed beams in places. There is a selection of dining areas to choose from, which are comfortably furnished without being pretentious or ‘twee’. I have been known to divert across Dartmoor from the Plymouth side to visit this great country pub. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Recommended.
