Food good,had better for less £, not really a friendly atmosphere but could be none of the waiters talked to us just doing there job restaurant wasn't fall with people felt rushed towards the end plenty of food good value so in all just another Itailian Restaurant.

Lucianos is probably one of Sunderland's most popular restaurants. It is always full on weekend evenings, so a reservation is essential. The food is good, as it is in most Italian restaurants, with a decent variety of dishes, but the main charm of this place is its homely feel. It is clearly not a chain restaurant but a family one. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and it's not unusual to hear several staff choruses of "Happy Birthday" in a night.
However to me, the restaurant itself is rather dark and crowded, making it a bit claustrophobic. On the other hand this definitely adds atmosphere. Lucianos is a friendly family place, and my friends all love it there, but I can’t help but feel it is really just an ordinary Italian restaurant.

i went out to this restaurant for a meal with my friends and it was fantastic. the atmosphere was like being on holiday and it was a great setting. the decor and layout was lovely, when our meal arrived the portions were really big and we went at happy hour which made the meal very cheap and good value for money. the drinks were reasonable and we really enjoyed our time spent at this restaurant. i would highly recommend this place to other groups of people, especially couples as it was very romantic. definatly the best italian restaurant in sunderland, i will be going back soon.

I love lucianos. there isnt a better italian restaurant in sunderland. its our usual venue for birthdays and celebrations and they always cater for large groups really well. we generally share our food out everyone having a little bit of everything and the staff always go out of their way to provide us with additonal cutlery and plates etc theres never been a meal that wasn't cooked to perfection. the chefs are exceptional. the staff also let us bring a birthday cake and are happy to prepare the candles and even sing happy birthday. the restaurant is beautifully laid out and they offer all the necessary amenities for families too.

Italian food can be exciting and i find that it's the best kind of food to eat for a romantic meal with someone; i don't know why but that's the general vibe that i get from it. This is actually how i came to go to this restaurant. I was looking for a place to have a meal with my partner and we had never been here. We gave it a try and weren't disappointed. Naturally, we did it as the Italians do (or you could say "when in Rome") and we had pasta to start, pizza for main and ice cream for desert. A great combination of ever there was one. The night turned out great. The place was clean and well decorated. The staff were helpful and polite. Good food, excellent night!

Really good atmosphere and friendly staff, good value food and happy hour menu. Great location for town centre as well.
