Great local - great food - friendly atmosphere
The only pub in the small village of Avon Dassett, the Avon does a great job of being the 'local' where locals hang out for a drink, as well as being a good restaurant. The owners/managers are hands on and very friendly. Good food - a typical pub menu but with a variety of specials. The best ribs in the area - says my nine-year old - and the best burger in the area - says my 12 year old. Good selection of wine and beers. 'Proper' puddings (sticky toffee pudding etc). A good place to wind down on a Friday night - when they also have live music from about 9pm onwards. A favourite with my family.
A good walkers' pub especially in winter when they have a roaring log fire. Cosy atmosphere.
