The Tudor Rose is situated just outside Sittingbourne, just of the main roundabout. You need to know that it is there, as it is not a place that you would really pass and notice due to its location.

The Rose offers a good sized car park and is a traditional English pub with the back/conservatory used as its restaurant.

The décor is looking a little tired but despite this everything is clean and tidy.

The menu is what I would call ‘traditional pub grub’, freshly prepared and ‘home made’ with a range of specials…..between us we elected for traditional fish & chips, a (huge) beef pie, mussels, fish and peppered pork. After an enjoyable meal we were all feeling rather satisfied and full….but who can resist pudding such as spotted dick and custard? Especially on Christmas Eve.

Overall the service, food and prices were all good and I would recommend the pub/restaurant to anyone in the area especially if you need to cater for a range of tastes.

The Tudor Rose has recently been taken over by Shepards Neame Brewery and therefore is improving dramatically.

Before the take over, the food was hideously over priced ad of low quality, with the exception of the evening Carvery deals, which were often better value and with better serice.

The Conservatory area is pleasant, as is the beer garden.

The younger staff members are generally friendly, with mixed reviews of the older ones.

The decoration is poor and the restaurant feels dark and dingy, however renovation works will hopefully solve these issues.

Lets hope the investment results in a cheaper and more welcoming service for all.

The Tudor rose Carvery is generally good.
