I get to eat out a lot, as I work very odd hours in the centre of Sheffield, so it was in great anticipation that I visited WasabiSabi, as I love tepanyaki style cooking.

I was not let down. The service was capable, efficient and entertaining, although I wasn't thrown my food, unlike another reviewer. The food is of a very high quality.

For those who have not eaten tepanyaki before, please do not be put off by the possibility of eating raw fish. All tepanyaki food...

For those who have not eaten tepanyaki before, please do not be put off by the possibility of eating raw fish. All tepanyaki food is cooked on a griddle and is wonderfully flavoursome as the chefs, like all tepanyaki chefs, have to undergo years of rigorous training.

It is a great way to spend an evening, although you will spend slightly more than you would expect to pay at a Chinese or Thai restaurant. But, boy is it worth it.

I would definitely recommend the Teppanyaki section of Wasabisabi, where they cook your meal in front of you on an open grill! For a large group of people this is such an entertaining and fun experience – and the chef will make an effort to get you involved i.e. he will flip the food from his grill directly into your mouth!!
Around 15 of us did the Teppanyaki menu for my birthday and everyone absolutely loved it!

There is an authentic Japanese feel about Wasabisabi, and the other restaurant area is great for couples etc. The menu can be a bit pricey –but it’s worth it!!

This Japanese restaurant has 2 different sections. One of it is for the Teppanyaki where they cook the meal in front of you with some showmanship. The other is food ordered from the menu.

We went for the ala carte menu, and not Teppanyaki. Sushi was absolutely fresh and came served in a boat which was a nice touch. We had green tea which was nice and refreshing…. They didn’t even charge for a top up when our pot ran out. We all ordered different styles of their fried noodles or Udon and all were nicely cooked, with just the right amount of sauce etc.

Ambience is nicely done with what feels like an authentic Japanese feel about it. Not the cheapest of place to eat…. But if you want quality you got to pay for it.

This is one of two Japanese restaurants in Sheffield. Its great because of the tepanyaki menu where someone cooks for you while you sit there. Its great watching thsi and the men are very entertaining, with the flames etc. Its expensive though.

This is one of the best places to eat in the city. It offers a different take of the east asian cooking, but if you like chinese then you will love this place.

I think it is the only Japanese restaurant in the city centre and offers something different to chinese food.

Whether you are sat in the main restaurant area or the tappanyaki room the service is excellant.
The food is also mouth watery good and even though you are full will want more.

The main restaurant prices are average leaning towards expensive but its worth it.

The tappanyaki is a great for a special occasions as its not cheap but the entertainment vaule makes it enjoyable.

The food is exquisite and the service is excellent. You can also have teppanyaki where they cook the food in front of you. Great fun!

Without a doubt the best Sushi restaurant in Sheffield - though, to be honest, I think it's the only one!
The sushi is always excellent and the soft-shell crab starter is to die for!
If you and your friends fancy something a little more interactive, the teppanyaki table is great fun.
Not the cheapest restaurant in Sheffield, but certainly one of the best.
