Reviews for Ambar Tandoori Restaurant
A group of us had our New Year get together at this place back in January and it comes highly recommended. I'm not usually a huge curry and Indian food eater, but once in a while I get the urge to try something different, hence our decision to visit Ambar.

Its a relaxed setting, even on a busy night we werent rushed or felt like we should vacate our table quickly. The service was attentive and unintrusive and everyone had good things to say about the dining experience. Whilst we havent got round to revisiting yet, we certainly intend to before the year is out.
I can heartily recommend the Chicken Tikka Malayan from this Indian Restaurant. It’s a pineapple curry dish but OMG it’s fan dabby dosey. You can have it at any strength you like, so I opted for madras strength, this restaurant did not disappoint.
OK the inside is like your average Indian takeaway, nothing that stands out over and above the usual places and it can be a little cramped in their booths as they were only built for hobbits it seems.
However all that aside you will enjoy a fabulous meal at Ambar and you won’t be disappointed with the food or price.
a couple of my friend and i went for a night out for a new years party 2008. its preety cool actually, it ranges from realy spicy food to sweet and mild curries.it doesnt cost to much either, overall it has a great atmosphere and great food.
A group of us visited here in December 2007 and had a good night out. Including drinks (no wine) we ate for £21 per head and there were no complaints about the food. It is not a large restaurant but if you want a nice curry, at a reasonable price in a nice place then Ambar's is worth trying. My vindaloo was not as hot as some I have had but that is a very subjective thing.
Whilst there is nothing that sets Ambar's apart from the crowd it is well worth a visit. Maybe three stars is a little harsh but I have rated other places 4 which I prefer, so on my scale it seems fair.
