This is a vintage inn much like its sister up the road at beachy head. This quaint traditional pub is elevated with great views of the meandering river in the Seven Sisters country park.

The main thing to be aware of is how busy it gets. If you want Sunday lunch be there before 12 especially if you have a large party.

This is a vintage inn much like its sister up the road at beachy head. This quaint traditional pub is elevated with great views of the meandering river in the Seven Sisters country park.

The main thing to be aware of is how busy it gets. If you want Sunday lunch be there before 12 especially if you have a large party.

The menu has a decent range supplemented by the specials. Sunday lunch has a large selection of meat - turkey, beef, lamb and pork on offer. Unfortunately these are not from freshly carved joints but they were ok - some of the vegetables were bordering on raw though.

Dessert selection was fine but slightly over-priced.

Service was fine bar (!) one miserable barman.

There is a vast amount of outside seating for those balmy sunny days and parking is plentiful.

Recommended for keen walkers who can retreat here after a brisk trek.
