Ye Olde Cross Inn (or The Cross as it's known to locals) is a wonderfully traditional local pub, situated in the beautiful old village of Ryton, in the Tyne Valley. Standing next to an ancient village green and surrounded by beautiful houses, The Cross is named after the village church that stands a short distance away. The Cross is always busy on a weekend and most weekday evenings, mainly consisting of regualrs. There's regular live music and a walled beer garden with heat lamps. Upstairs, there's an area for the use of diners and special nights (such as Psychic Nights) that the landlord often offers his customers. The pub is very cosy and traditionally decorated, especially in the beautiful upstairs room. The Cross also offers a range of real ales, as well as the usual standard and premium cask lagers, beers and ciders. Special offers on house double spirits are always in place and there's also a very wide range of branded spirits to choose from. Drinks are not expensive and a small selection of meals are also available, again at a decent price.
