small but friendly
The castle tavern used to be a regular haunt in younger days, and still my friends and i enjoy going back there now for old times sake. Its a small local pub with 2 bar areas and a pool table in the back. The beer is reasonable and not too pricey and the pub is generally quieter than most making it easy to get served. The decor is traditional and the locals are friendly enough (they dont bite). If you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track with optional music and relaxed traditional atmosphere then you could do much worse than a visit to the castle.
