Not that great but ok for an evening with friends. Should be cheaper given the quality though.

Reviews for Don Fernando Spanish Tapas

Not that great but ok for an evening with friends. Should be cheaper given the quality though.

Really disappointed. Overpriced at £16.95 per head for a 'selection' that was soggy, oily, and served on a bed of limp iceberg lettuce. A few slabs of meat, oily chorizo, soggy onion rings. Staff were friendly but that was it. Left with a lighter wallet - having walked past the place many many times and enjoyed tapas food in the past I had been curious about it for ages as the place looks good. Go to Wagamama or Giraffe instead, they are only round the corner.

Quality food, great service and superb value Don Fernandos is always a regular when my stomach starts to rumble.

The food is fresh and flavoursome and if Spanish cuisine is for you then this is the place.

The staff are first class and you can rely upon them to even order for you and get it right.

If you haven't been, go there tonight and if you've been before, get yourselves down there again.

Loved it.

This reads like it was written by the manager of the place.
The food is very very basic and not anywhere near worth the money even if it is relatively cheap.
Everything I tried tastes like it has gone from the freezer to the microwave to the greasepan for some authentic flavouring.
Rubbish!!!

Surprised at the review here as we've always had fantastic food at Don Fernando's. It is cheap and cheerful but authentic enough for Surrey and pretty lively on Saturday nights. I would try it again!

I wanted to list this one because as I started fuming whilst reviewing Carluccio I remembered another bad experience, at Don Fernandos next to Richmond st.
The day started off badly when we didn't get a table at this great looking fish place (fish works?) and trudged around looking for sustenance. Service here wasn't very friendly and I could have sworn at the time that it was a tacky spanish-theme chain, but having done some research I find it's actually family run and they have their own website which is quite well designed: http://www.donfernando.co.uk/

I do remember some very oily and pricey dishes, but it is Richmond and I haven't tried their full range. Maybe it's quite lively at peak times... It's also had a decent set of reviews on london eating, so the juries out i think.
