This is a good option for something slightly different in the area. In reality its not true French Bistro food but it makes a good pretence.

My own view is that it is pricey for what it is, but the quality is fine even if the final fare is a little uninteresting.

This building has had many 'resto occupants' and after a series of poor occupiers at least there is now a reason to enter the old post office again.

Ma Cuisine is a small French Bistro located in pretty Kew Village. It is an unassuming looking place, with old-fashioned décor and friendly French staff. I have been there a few times for Sunday lunch and always had a good experience.

They have a 3 course Sunday lunch menu which is around £18 - we found this to be good value considering the generous serves and excellent quality of the food.

On one visit I had the most delicious French version of a Sunday Roast Beef, meat was medium rare and roast vegetables were better than mother used to make. Other highlights have included the Duck breast served with red cabbage. Dessert wise, the Lemon Tart is excellent, as is the Chocolate Pot.

Oh, and no need to spend too much on wine here - their house wine served in a carafe is perfectly drinkable!

Should you for one reason or another find yourself to be in Kew Village, I can recommend Ma Cuisine as a good place to come for as an alternative to the neighbouring Pizza Express or the Michelin rated Glasshouse. Pros: Good food, great value for money and friendly staff. A few tables outside ideal for a summer night with a good friend. Cons: Boring decor, they have two chefs, (one is great, the other one not so. I recommend you call in advance to make sure the head chef is there).
