I avoid eating/drinking at the Pauls in Richmond as it is small and not particularly inviting.

However the produce is fabulous! If you are having a dinner party and don't have time to bake I definitely recommend swinging by and picking up one of the tasty tarts! The citron tart is a particular favourite of mine and compares very well with those I have sampled in France

The pre-made baugettes and sandwiches are all very tasty and enjoyable. If you are on a diet I would avoid this place at all costs...

There are fourteen Paul outlets in central London, this one being in Richmond.

The first time I heard of this patisserie was from my french friend Valerie. We were going to Paris for the first time and she said that although the majority of French bakeries are excellent, Paul's is also steady and reliable.

And she is right!

This has been a firm favourite ever since. A little pricey, but worth it.

Each branch we have been to has a Paul's 'look' and 'brand' but is individual in style and decor, which I find quite pleasing.

I have tried a chocolate croissant (don't ask me the name, I am not clued up on fancy names!), and hubby has tried many more, having a sweet tooth.

They are famous for their traditional homemade bread, which is fresh and so tasty.

I always have a cup of black coffee which I enjoy.

Even though this is a chain, it still has a personable feeling to it, which is warm and welcoming.
