The Island bar is set on Pipers Island this bar has just been rebuilt, it is now a very modern all glass building. The bar is set in a very pretty location next to Caversham Bridge; it is named the Island bar because it floats in the middle of the river Thames. The service is very good and so is the food but I found it rather expensive although you do get a beautiful view of the water and the passing boats so I suppose the cost is worth it for the scenery. The bar is set in a very pretty location next to Caversham Bridge; it is named the Island bar because it floats in the middle of the river Thames. The service is very good and so is the food but I found it rather expensive although you do get a beautiful view of the water and the passing boats so I suppose the cost is worth it for the scenery. This is worth a visit just for the novelty value if nothing else.
