A few years ago the Standard Tandoori was regularly claimed to be the best Indian restaurant in Reading. This meant the tables were hard to obtain. Due to the popularity the restaurant is always full, but service can tend to be slow. The food is always promptly served and piping hot. Normally we eat here in a large group so order a wide variety of dishes all of which seem good.
The food is nicely presented and well served. My favourite is always the chicken biriani which I have with piswari naan and my partner normally has a chicken dansak. We have never had a problem with the standard of the food here.
