Best bacon sandwich ever
The bacon sandwich is ubiquitous in it's morning glory. Even some vegetarians seem to crave them, but finding a good one it difficult. Most consist of two or at best three slices of tepid, flabby, limp bacon, fat attached, stuffed into a white roll and handed out in a paper bag. Not so those from Pierre's in Reading.
Pierre's Baguettes probably sells a hundred other great sandwiches, there is a massive queue at lunchtime that speaks volumes, but I go there for it's cracking bacon sandwiches in a morning. The buns are crusty on the outside, fluffy inside, and stuffed with crispy bacon. They're reasonably priced and served hot. You can pick a baguette if you like, but the rustic rolls are great. If you want they also do a full breakfast baguette, but I've never been man enough to take it on. Check out the photo!
Whilst you wait (which shouldn't be too long), have a glace over the cakes, slices and sandwich fillings which await you at lunchtime. If you've seen a finer looking slice of rockroad let me know.
