A decent chain bar and restaurant the Slug and Lettuce on Reading Riverside is a good place for drinks after work or a meal. Often quite busy from 5.30pm onwards with office workers relaxing, the Slug and Lettuce has an outdoor area facing the river, some high tables with bar stools towards the front of the restaurant, a general restaurant area and some comfy leather chairs towards the back.
The staff are polite and helpful, including sorting out any particular dietary requirements. They also run a promotion on Wednesdays with any bottle of wine for just under £13. Also watch out for the live music they sometimes have.
