The lobster pot is a little gem at portland bill and well worth a stop by. It doesn't claim to be anything more than a cafe so the food is limted and a little dated, there aren't many places still doing banana splits, but if you have been out for the day and have a car full of fussy people from grandparents to kids they will all find somthing on the menu that they like, which these days is even more rare.

Just dropped in for coffee and cake at Christmas.Obviously well run and spotless with friendly service. No mince pies though (lost opportunity) and coffee undrinkable industrial type! No choice - simply with milk(old fashioned frothy half milk half coffee- my wife left hers) or black - barely drinkable. Please get a new, proper coffee machine!Took me back to the sixties! Menu seemed expensive - crab salad £14.95? cheddar ploughmans - £7.95?? but cannot comment on food quality.

Located at the end of Portland Bill near the lighthouse, the Lobster Pot is a small cafe/restaurant that has a beautiful view of the sea.

The food here is delicious, with one of the highlights on the menu being place and chips. There is a wide variety of food including burgers and pies, and desserts including banoffee pie and bannana splits.

The service is outstanding. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. They are very good at what they do - they don't even have to write down your order. They memorize it!

The Lobster Pot is very clean and welcoming, and there is a small shop where you can buy souvenirs of the area.
