La Bateau Bistro is a great place to go for a bite to eat and a chilled out evening. The atmosphere has a surfy, beach feel with fairy lights in the windows and a relaxed seating area and separate bar.

There is a good choice of food on their menu at very reasonable prices. There is a mixed selection of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes and all look appealing and delicious. On an evening, if the weather is good you can sit outside watching the world go by with a glass of vino or two.. It’s nice for a romantic meal or a group, they also do parties which I have heard are very successful.

This is a little gem in the daytime of the evening. The menu is mostly fish based but for a light lunch snack the nachos are great too. In the evenings this place turns in to a lively bar generally full of 20 and 30 somethings. It has a surf vibe and often had surf videos playing. It opens until 1am and on bank holidays there are often bands.There are friendly bouncers on the door but generally it is laid back and there isnt any trouble. There is a decking area outside for smokers or just for chilling with a drink with friends on a summers evening.
