City Bay Views is one of those restaurants for special occasions in my opinion.

It isn't the cheapest place to eat but the quality of food, service and views of the harbour are perfect.

There is an extensive menu to suit everyone's requirements. If you are going as a group or fancy having lots of choice I would recommend the set menus as they offer good value for money and you won't go away hungry.

If you are going for a birthday, advise them beforehand...

If you are going for a birthday, advise them beforehand and they will bring out a sparkly dessert and play music to embarrass your fellow diner!

You never feel rushed and the surroundings are second to none. Go and enjoy!

This place is very busy so you will probably need to book. There are always loads of birthdays parties there so lots of cakes with sparklers and singing! The food is pretty good here, probably the only better Chinese in the area is the mandarin in Bournemouth. The atmosphere is pretty good because it’s so busy. Menu is wide- all the usual things that you would expect in a Chinese. The food was really good- especially the crispy duck! Service is mostly good- but our waiter didn’t speak English very well! Overall, we have an enjoyable evening and we would go back again.

This Chinese is truly delicious! It's unquestionably the most expensive Chinese in the area, but the food does reflect that.

The only things holding back a 5* rating is the decor, and the prices. It really does need a refurb, and I can't imagine them not being able to afford one, it looks like it hasn't been refurnished since the late eighties or early nineties. And like previously mentioned, the price; I'd say it'd cost at least £25 per head excluding drinks.

You get a 10% discount on takeaways, but it's still pricy. I got a takaway for 2 once, and it was over £50.

But it's about the food right? And that is amazing!

PS If you're going for a special occasion, there is an extra 10% service charge for parties of over 6 people.

Also, don't mention it's a special occassion either, as they play stupid music and bring out a cake. Which I can't help but think; ruins the atmosphere.

But if what you're after is a fine Chinese, then this is the place to go!
