La Tasca are a chain of authentic Spanish restaurants with a careful blend of everything that is good about Spain - warm decor, authentic cuisine and friendly hospitality. All this combines to create a great atmosphere, where you can relax and eat or drink as much as you like, from a selection of Tapas dishes to an authentic Paella. They also serve a selection of Spanish wines, sherry, beers and Sangria.

Reviews for La Tasca

La Tasca is Spanish style restaurant which does exactly what it says on the tin. The interior is decorated in the way that English people imagine Spain should look, brightly coloured and busy. The staff are genuine, however, and provide a good level of service. The food, particularly the extensive Tapas menu, is excellent and always very tasty. There are a huge variety of dishes and many would be suitable for vegetarian visitors. La Tasca is great value in terms of quality and quantity 24/7 but really comes into its own with the “Tapas for a Tenner” menu – definitely check this out!

I've eaten a few times recently at La Tasca in the oxford castle and have to say I quite enjoy it.

The food is of a reasonable quality (if not amazing) and you get quite a good selection of items on the menu.

Sometimes you hear La Tasca being criticised for being expensive and having very small portion sizes...if you're paying full price, this can be a concern - I've had a plate before with 2 or 3 items on it.

It is, however, possible to have very cheap meals there, either using Tesco Clubcard Deals vouchers, or going through their promotions (at the time of writing, they're doing all the tapas you can eat for £10).

The decor's a little bit cheesy (think Disney Does Spain), but there's a nice outdoor seating (heated) area that lets you escape this altogether.

On the whole, if you can get a cheap meal there, it's probably worth doing - if you're paying full price, it's probably possible to get better "bang for your buck" elsewhere in Oxford.
