Aziz is Oxford's most consistent Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant. It has been going for ages and although it fluctuates, this is between good and superb. The staff have always been friendly and efficient. And although it costs a little bit more, its not much more, and it is always nicely decorated and feels just that little bit more classy.
The menu doesn't change too often but it doesn't need to - there are lots of dishes and they are all pretty good. I prefer the fish curries personally, but the vegitarian range is also excellent and wide ranging. NB came back here again a week ago and it was back on top form, apart from an unusually fatty fish! Recommended. Especailly the very wide range of veggie dishes.

Having moved from Manchester after spending my student days traversing the infamous curry mile, I was initially disappointed by what Oxford had to offer in terms of Indian cuisine. Then I found Aziz on the Cowley Road.

OK, so you may book a table for a large number of people and find that it's not quite ready when you arrive, but there's always the bar area out front for this eventuality. The food is good with large portion sizes - though as a lightweight when it comes to curries, I'm to qualified to comment on the hotter dishes! More expensie than Manchester - but there's less competition!

Moved to Oxford recently and was worred I would miss the excellent restaurants in Tooting, South London.

However, been to Aziz twice and been pleasantly suprised by the service, ambience and the food.

The staff are attentive, despite the fact that the restaurant is often busy, and are very polite.

The food is excellent - wonderful poppadoms and dips, and lovely fresh nan with some imaginative curries and specials.

You may need to book at popular times, as the restaurant seems popular with work outings for birthdays and the like.
