Reviews for The Nose Bag

The Nose Bag upstairs is reliable for very good, very big cakes, tasty and healthy looking food, and reasonable city centre cafe prices. Not eactly cheap, but a whole lot better than going to a big chain.

It can be a slow process getting served, and seated because it is often busy, and its cafeteria style service, but that's mainly because people who know it go back there again and again. There is something very Oxford and local about it.

The decor doesn't seem to ever change and it can feel a bit sticky, but that may be simply because of the amount of people that pass through. If you are in Oxford and need a tea and cake, or something a bit bigger I'd recommend it

The Nose Bag is one of the more traditional cafés in Oxford with its large wooden tables and chairs and small vases of flowers. This description is deceptive, however, as The Nosebag is far from ordinary. The food is what really sets this popular café apart as it is all home-made and very, very tasty. This café is an ideal destination if you fancy a cup of tea and a slice of cake (and what a selection there is to choose from) or if you would like something more substantial. As well as a varied array of salads, hot meals (for example lasagne, cottage pie etc) are offered.
