Reviews for All Bar One
Good:
Selection of beers and wines, food, atmosphere, people who go there.
Bad:
The acoustics are poor (you can always hear everyone's conversations) and their strict kicking out at 11:00/11:30 policy is a wee bit annoying.
Contrary to the fact I've written more negative I would recommend All-Bar-One. It's one of Baths better bars.
All Bar One is on Oxford High Street - and is your typical semi-trendy semi-posh Oxford bar that does a bit of expensive food as well. I can recommend the chips (a typical non-expensive food) and they used to do interesting juice mixes of soft drinks - though seem to have stopped that more recently.
Take care if you are moving chairs to accommodate a large group though! Some of the innocent-looking stools must be constructed from lead, and require a decent deadlift technique if you're not to end up hobbling away with a dodgy back at the end of the night.
I like wine and All Bar One stock some great red and white wines by the glass aswell as a selection of champagne. You can get burgers and hot sandwiches there aswell as a tapas style pick and mix menu which is popular. The staff are welcoming and polite, although sometimes the kitchen seems to stuggle keeping up with the orders (we had to wait 45mins for our food). Its a place which is popular with a large range of people. If you are just going for a drink they offer a few bar snacks such as nuts, olives and jelly beans.
We had a great time with a good variety of well-prepared fresh and tasty food. The atmosphere was great, the seating comfortable and the surroundings aesthetically most pleasing. Customer service was quite good.
