I've always enjoyed going to Saltwater in Nottingham. Being located on the top floor of the Cornerhouse leisure complex the bar attracts young professionals and a friendly crowd. The drink prices are a little above average but in general not too bad. The decor is smart and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. Although I have never eaten at this venue I understand that the food is reasonable.

As with anywhere in Nottingham, if you look on the young-side always carry ID as they seem to be particularly strict. My other half who is 26 regularly gets asked for ID and she doesn't look particularly young.

Saltwater is THE bar/restaurant to consider if you wish to impress the person you are taking out, whether it is for romance, pleasure or business. The décor is beautiful and trendy, lots of comfy seating to lay around on, lovely lighting and the VIEW! The unique selling point of Saltwater Bar/Restaurant is its rooftop terrace that overlooks Nottingham Market Square, offering very impressive panoramic views. Situated on the top floor of the leisure and entertainment complex called The Cornerhouse, Saltwater is a perfect choice for drinks and dinner for a special night out in Notts! I always take my friends there when they come to visit me in Nottingham for the first time!

Fantastic venue, great crowd, no trouble. I always take my brother when he comes and visits me down from Scarborough, he loves it. Drinks and food a little pricey, however I like the venue. You can sit outside and have fantastic views of the city, great on a sunny day. In the winter they have patio heaters to keep you nice and warm. Some night there is a chill out DJ playing some really cool tunes. Service is great, staff are nice and polite, a little em brassing when the ask me for ID when I'm 31 sometimes! I will come again!

This bar does not have the usual lively atmosphere outside as its upstairs in a complex containing a cinema and restaurants etc. However, it has many positive aspects: It is a well-designed, specious bar which is always buzzing yet not too overcrowded. It is a great place to go for early evening drinks before hitting the main bars in the city center. Whilst a lot of young professionals drink there, it is also a great place for students. It has a rooftop terrace with plenty of tables for you to drink outside.

I really recommend the restaurant here as well – it is very classy yet comfortable to eat in. It has a great range of both meat and fish dishes and also caters for vegetarians. If you go early you can also get two courses for £10 (5.30pm-7pm) – very good value and a wide choice of dishes to pick from.
