Reviews for Walkabout Inn
A nice bar with friendly BAR staff. It is however nothing close to the Austrailian image it claims to portray.
I checked out the menu but wasn't hungry so I don't know what the quality of the food is like.
Ultimately it was the swearing doorman last night (Friday) that killed it off completely for me.
The doorman where as aggresive as the law would permit them and must of had some sort of idea that the intimidating facade accelerated their working shift .
I will try going during the day for a meal to see if the daytime standards are much better. (they would have to be).
A well run busy city centre operation, a safe enviroment and excellent value for money.
I've been to this Walkabout several times. It's always good for sport, especially the Rugby (it was fun when England beat the Aussies!) The bar staff are friendly and helpful although when it is busy it can take some time to get served.
When visiting this venue for stag-do's the bar staff have no problem serving up "top-shelf-pints" on request.
I've only been twice, but enjoyed it both times. It's not overly busy, and the barstaff were very friendly. The music played was really to my taste too, there is a tiny comfy sofa, and some soft-seating that make the place more relaxing. However, my only problem is the drinks on offer seemed to be a little limited in terms of what I like, but the prices of the drinks isn't too bad, and the atmosphere in general make it a nice place to be. I would give it a 4 and half, out of five if I could, but why don't you go see.
