Reviews for Lavender House
The Lavender House is set in a house with beautiful oak beams and rustic decor. The menus range from a minimum of £40 a head for the 3 course meal to a rather expensive 9 course meal. As soon as you enter, u are greeted by the large number of awards the restaurant as won, and so was eagerly looking forward to my meal.
The starter and main course were pleasant but weren't worth shouting about, the only course of particular note was dessert, which was a pleasant chocolate tart, presentation of all dishes was excellent.
The restaurant has a good selection of fine wines, and the Margaux '99 was very good. The hand made chocolates at the end of meal were very nice, and it was nice touch to receive another bag of them as we left for the night.
Though it was a pleasant night, I can't help but feel the menu was slightly overpriced for what it was, presentation was good but would like to see more taste in the dishes, or at least knock £5 off the 3 course menu.
