Reviews for The Wild Man
The Wild Man provides a comfortable, open atmosphere for all to enjoy. Being centrally located you can expect a full variety of people to be there and lovely food during the day. This is a pub where strangers and philosophers are welcomed and anybody can expect a quiet, friendly drink.
Later on in the evenings it can get quite busy due to the late license, but this is a reflection of the quality of service and security of the premises as there is rarely any antisocial behaviour from the clients.
With the recent free WiFi (this review is, in fact, being written inside the pub) the Wild Man makes for a comfortable drink during the day and a fun night out.
The Wild Man looks good from the outside. On my first visit I was served by a very unclean and scruffy barman - I say unclean because he didn't smell too pleasant and he had dirt on his face and hands. He didn't know where anything was and was unsure whether they had any tea or lime cordial. He searched for both which took ages and then questioned my choice of drinks, as if I was in the wrong place. Since then I haven't wanted to visit. They have a jukebox (one pound a play) and a selection of games (but most of the pieces are missing). Students from the Art School usually stumble here when their bar closes.
