I found this restaurant very family friendly.We ordered chicken korma,lamb madras,a vindaloo,2 vegetable pilaus chips and 3 keema nan's.It was really fast service and the waiters were very helpfull and pleasant.This was the second indian restaurant ive been to in the area since moving from london.I'll defienetly be back!

I visit the Gate of India quite a bit.
I find the food is very good and have never had a problem getting booked in.
The location I think is brilliant - on the main street in Tynemouth which is ideal as there are plenty of bars close by.
Parking is easy - right outside the restaurant is a car park.
The food at Gate of India is very good (everyone I have ever been with would agree) and the service is standard I would say.
If anything, the place is most probably due a facelift.
The food was reasonably priced and I am sure to return.

A very good basic no frills indian. One of the first in the North East. In tynemouth front street. you could not wish for NICER SETTING. Avoid Saturdays
