Prompted by Sue81 and Alex_J's contributions and that Kesar is just 5 minutes walk from the front door, Kesar was chosen as the venue for Old Shrek's birthday meal. It certainly didn't disappoint and we'll certainly be back! The service is first rate, the decor is clean and modern and the food is simply excellent.
The menu is a sheer delight, there's something for lovers of seafood, for meat eaters and for vegetarians alike. The Onion Bargees and Samosas were as good as I have ever sampled; tasty with subtle spicing and not at all greasy. The main courses of Biryani Vegetable and Channa Marsala were equally fabby; the plain Naan and sides of Saag Aloo and Bhindi (ki subji) were simply outstanding. The only disappointment was the lack of any genuine Indian desserts; oh how brilliant it would be to find Ras Malai and Gulab Jamuns on the menu for my next visit!

Lovely place for a romantic meal or cosy dinner with friends. Went with my husband and enjoyed terrific food served by friendly and attentive staff. Very reasonably priced. Will be back with friends and family.

The Kesar restaurant certainly has the wow factor; from the second you step into the restaurant. I visited the restaurant on a Wednesday night with my wife.

I started with Kebab Mishali which was not only beautifully presented but tasted outstanding. My wife had the Jhinga Achanak and was equally impressed. For the mains I had the Kesar special which melted in my mouth and I was lucky enough to share some of my wife's Lamb Shank as she was saving room for the desserts.

Without a doubt the absolute standout of the meal was the main course, the hardest part was choosing!

Overall it was a wonderful dining experience! The food was fantastic, the wines complemented the food perfectly, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has an appreciation for beautiful food.
