Located on Tynemouth Front street and not far from Tynemouth priory is the Salutation Inn. It's a decent enough pub, serving very reasonably priced food (some things on the menu are 2 for £7.95). The wait was a little long when we were there but it was a nice day so lots of people had made a beeline for the beach and it was very busy. The tables could be better positioned as I was constantly having my chair knocked by passing customers. On the day I visited, I used public transport but...

The wait was a little long when we were there but it was a nice day so lots of people had made a beeline for the beach and it was very busy. The tables could be better positioned as I was constantly having my chair knocked by passing customers. On the day I visited, I used public transport but I would imagine, if driving, there could be an issue with parking availability (especially when the weather is nice and people have flocked to the beach)
