The Maggie, as locals call it, still has legendary status. As once-upon-a-time it was a cracking local pub with great beer, a wonderful atmosphere and good music. Sadly, no more! A change of owner(s) has sounded the death knell for the Maggie; the beer is served in very poor condition, the customers have deserted it in droves and it now has all the charm of a railway station waiting room.

if you like live music (and its free) and good food and drink, you can not beat this place. In a bit of a limbo with management at present, but the locals are very friendly

Didn't like this place at all. Too busy maybe? Too loud? Unfriendly clientele? Yes, a bit of all of them probably. Beer was fine though. Known locally as the Maggie Bank.
