Reviews for Frankie & Benny's Restaurant
Frankie & bennys offer a wide selection of good food at a reasonable (but certainly not cheap) price and the Newcastle branch is no exception. Excellent service is gaurenteed even when packed (which is mostly always) as they actually have enough staff to serve people, which is novel these days! Good atmosphere with italian background music and various bits of kitch with links to the "Rat Pack", suitable for familys, couples and large groups. The booths also add an nice touch of privacy if you so wish. However, one drawback for me is the cost of snacks & snadwiches, often a mainmeal is only a pound or two more and works out better value.
Hmmm... i wasn't really sure how to rate this one. On the face of it, Frankie & Benny's restaurant is nice, great food and great service. Yet there seems to be something missing which i can't quite put my finger on. i think its to do in that it seems a little too themed or generic. All of the restaurants in this chain appear to be the same with the same menu. But i suppose that what is to be expected! The food itself is really tasty and there is a wide choice, even for vegetarians. it is served quickly, and served with a smile too which is great! Prices are about average for a themed restaurant
Excellent location just off Northumberland Street, great to meet up with Friends there. The cost is reasonable depends on what you get, obviuosly coctails and wine may up the price. The food is nice and I enjoyed the garlic pizza bread the last time I went. The desserts are very nice too. The staff are friendly and the chefs prepare the food in an open kitchen where you have full view of them. The decor is New York Italain and the music played is quiet cool - you can even buy the cd. Overall a good reasonably priced meal for an evening out, with friends, family of your partner.
I am a frequent visitor to Frankie and Benny's in Newcastle, going to this branch a little less frequently than the brnach at the Gate, which is in a far better location near the cinema. This branch feels a little smaller and less private inside, with big glass windows overlooking a busy street.
This restaurant chain is classically Italian in flavour, playing non stop 1960's easy listening style songs, lots of Sinatra too, as you eat. the decor is done very well, with murals depicting the history of the restaurant's owners.
The menu is typical Italian with a personal edge, dishes like 'Mama's cheese bake' and 'New York cheesecake' spring to mind. It is done in an attempt to transport you into a different time and place.
The food is always tasty and wholesome. Pizzas have a fresh vegetable base, no fake cheese or pizza sauce here. Dishes are always well cooked and done to personal specification.
This branch always provides less in portion to the one at the Gate, for some reason, but this is my only complaint.
The staff here are friendly, student hip-hop types who are quick to serve, happy and talkative. Great menu for kids and adults alike. Prices are reasonable but a little higher than similar pizza outlets, but worth it for the environment you eat in.
My first ever visit to frankie and benny’s was on april the 3rd for my birth day
It was great the theme of the place is rely good feels warm and has a good feel to it
The food can be quite pricey as I believe my new York chicken was £17
But I can safely say its worth it only live once right you do get a lot
So try to take that in to account if you like a desert at the end of the meal
Like me perfect to take the girl friend to for a meal just rember that a lot of
Families do go so pick a good time hope this has helped
Until last month, i'd never been to a Frankie and Benny's before. My partner recently had her graduation from university and, to celebrate, a few of us went to Frankie and Benny's. I found the place to be very welcoming and the staff seemed more than happy to do that little extra to help. I had a pizza and it was very nice. It wasn't THE best one i'd ever had but it was certainly the best i've had in a few years. This is certainly a place i'd go back to and is somewhere that i can highly recommend for families or groups.
