Reviews for Revolution Bar

Revolution has got to be one of the most impressive bars in Newcastle - an old bank, the vaulted ceilings and sheer beauty of the place is amazing. As a vodka lover, I adore the range of my favourite tipple in here, especially cherry colas and the minty, creamy cocktails - sorry, can't remember their name! The food served in Revolution also looks lovely, with special offers constantly available. Despite the bar having quite a few areas to sit down, at weekends the bar becomes packed full of people standing up, and is not for the claustrophobic among us. The music is funky, happy house, and the clientle is a mix of young trendies, students and professionals.

Revolution Bar is near Central Station. It is a converted bank I believe and the building itself is fab! It is huge inside with big high ornate ceiling! The music is more background than overpowering making it a nice place to catch up with friends. It is a vodka bar so they sell a range of flavoured vodka drinks and shots and cocktails (loving the cherry cola cocktail!). The only thing I dislike is when it's mega busy as the queue for the bar can take a while! It's also likely you will queue to get in on a Friday/Saturday night after 9pm. If you're a visitor to Newcastle I would say this place is a must!

The main reason I like Revolution is the building. It is truely stunning interanally with columns, marble floors, and a vaulted ceiling. The internal alterations to make it a bar are sympathetic in materials and style, and provide secluded seating areas and a raised platform for the DJ and other drinkers and a smaller second bar without diminishing the space. Revolution sells an amazing array of types of vodka, flavoured and non, as well as standard beers and bottles. The shot trays are great value and fun with friends. Prices are fairly reasonable, and there are plenty of offers on drinks. There is also a members card which makes things significantly cheaper, although this is very poorly advertised and seems to be almost exclisively a word of mouth thing. On week nights this is a great place for a chat and some drinks, on a weekend it is very noisy and packed, and can take up to 45mins to get to the bar after 10pm.

Revolution is situated near the station in Newcastle, it is in a Building that used to be a bank, this makes the place seem massive with its high ceiling which is not to the taste of many, I quite like it though as it just makes it seem more airy and less hectic when it normally is, this place is normally very busy and people even queue to get in on a weekend, cocktails are lovely and are reasonably priced, the beer is decent and the staff normally friendly, music is not to my taste normally but its not overly loud so I can still talk to my friends if I want which is a big plus for me nowadays as bars like this seem obsessed with music so loud you cant actually hear your own voice which makes for a very boring night in my opinion, all in all I would say that this is the best bar of its type in Newcastle, I prefer drinking in other places in general as prefer a more pub like feel but I would recommend it for anyone on a night out

Part of a national chain of vodka bars, this place will always attract a fair crowd, usually quite mixed but always a good place to drink and chat. It's located on a street of trendy bars inbetween the station and the infamous Bigg Market, although this is probably the most easygoing due to it's background dj's and great priced drinks.

Most notable on the drinks front is the 2 for 1 some great tasting cocktails and nothing beats a tray of vodka shooters either!

A little quieter early in the day but I hear it does some pretty nice food as well, and in a well preserved building mixed with marble and old paintings it's a nice decor to have a friendly drink in.

The revolution Bar is part of the well known chain of vodka bars and is situated at the bottom of Newcastle’s famous ‘Bigg market’ and opposite the central station. Unlike the other bars located within the Bigg market Revolution is a pleasure to drink in. The bar is located within a magnificent building which contains marble pillars and the original artwork on its walls.

The drinks served are mostly vodka based and extremely well made by the friendly and experienced staff. The prices also will not break the bank which is always a plus. Although it can get extremely busy the wait for drinks is never unbearable. During the day the bar serves a variety of food which is extremely nice and again not too expensive. Highly recommended.
