Yates's Wine Lodge is a chain of bars that combine a warm and friendly crowd of people and regular promotions with an extensive array of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. The decor is warm and cosy, making it an ideal venue to meet up with friends.

Part of the national chain and occupying a corner spot on Grainger Street in Newcastle city centre, Yates’s is set out over three large floors (although I have to admit to never having ventured as far up as the 3rd floor) with plenty of space for those eating to enjoy their meals without those who are there solely to drink right on top of them.
Meals are served all day every day until 9pm, and the choice is excellent. I have started many pub crawls at Yates' but have never eaten there until recently when I tried a Sunday dinner there.
I have to say I was very impressed, not least because a meal and dessert will only cost £6.45. The meal turned out to be more than satisfactory and I would definitely recommend this pub, which manages to meet the needs of both pub grub fans and Newcastle city revellers.
